Costco Calendar

Shared by Anonymous

My grandmother is really proud of the fact that she knows what time to go to Costco to avoid all the Asians.

Not The Farmers

Shared by Anonymous

When talking about farm workers and how poorly they’re treated my mom always goes “ black people aren’t gonna go out there and do the jobs that hispanic ppl do”.

My grandpa was always a ucla fan and saying stuff about how usc was in a bad neighborhood and it wasn’t as good of a school...you basically know that part already but yeah when I actually got into usc he literally said are you sure you wanna go there? A lot of “colored” people live around there.....I was like huhhhh? The people that live around there are literally our people. It’s mostly Hispanic and black.

Poppin and Lockin

My parents definitely have some internal biases against the black and brown communities, I mean theres that whole joke where when in the car when they see a black man, they automatically lock the door

Working People

Shared by Anonymous

My mom once said like... she was basically talking about the fact that people weren’t coming to work, and she was straight like: and there all African American. Why are african American people complaining about getting jobs if they won’t even come to work.

Color Me Sad

Shared by Anonymous

My family’s biggest thing is being colorist, always telling us not to get too dark or saying we should be with/date/marry people with lighter skin than us. A family member has literally said that they would “kill” my cousins if they brought home a black guy or girl like as a partner. They have also said that the black community is whining, that they don’t actually suffer more than our (Latinx) community has, and that the BLM movement is bullshit.

Color Me Sad Pt 2

Shared by Anonymous

I realized that a lot of people who were born in Mexico have this weird obsession with skin color and a colonizer mindset that carries over generations if you don’t notice it

Affirmative Inaction

Shared by Anonymous

My parents for a very long time were on the side of getting rid of affirmative action when that whole case came out bc they legitametly felt like black students were TAkINg TheiR KidS SpoTs. they feel like black and brown people are benefitting so much bc of diversity initiatives and stuff when really they have gone through years and years of oppression and my parents have this mentality like oh I made it in this country why cant they?
